What is Leadership usa?

“Leadership is not a camp; it’s a course.”

This phrase has become popular commentary among LUSA participants and staff. While we do conduct our activities at a campground and in the wilderness, it would be quite misleading to say that we are a camp like so many others and build an assumption that you will simply show up, get lost in massive group activities, and be entertained all week by camp counselors. Are you ready for something more?

“Leadership is not a camp; it’s a course.”

We have planned every activity with intention and purpose. We keep things small and intimate and personal. We have clear objectives and have witnessed and know that the greatest growth happens when you are stretched personally, physically, socially, and most importantly, spiritually. Yes, we have fun. And lots of it. There are ziplines and rock climbing walls, after all. But if you choose to join us, expect to be challenged. You will encounter unique opportunities to develop and grow in leadership skills. You can expect to cement foundational truths about who you are in Christ and how to encounter God with a heart postured to follow His lead. Come expecting to discover that your life is uniquely designed with purpose and value. You will be empowered and equipped to be more effective Christian leaders in your homes and in your communities. Will you rise to the challenge?

“Leadership is not a camp; it’s a course”

A three-year course, actually. All participants begin with Stage 1, regardless of age or grade. Each stage—each year—builds upon the other and culminates with a Stage 3 ceremony recognizing the monumental transition from youth into adulthood.

'Leadership' or ‘LUSA’ (as the course has become known) is highly regarded by participants, their parents, and in the wider community by churches, church leaders, schools, and employers. Completing all three courses is truly transformational.
